Evanston Local Reparations Restorative Housing Program
First U.S. municipality to fund and distribute reparations. Phase one offered $25,000 housing grants to Black residents affected by discriminatory housing policies from 1919–1969, funded via cannabis tax revenue. Over $5 million distributed. Application period closed 2021.

AU Assembly Decision 942 (Feb 2026) formally designated 2026–2035 as the African Union Decade of Reparations.
