The Los Angeles Reparations Advisory Commission has released its full report, raising the question: what comes next? On this edition of Dominique DiPrima’s #FreedmenFridays,  she talks with Attorney Capri Maddox, Executive Director of the LA Civil Rights Department, which oversees the city’s reparations work alongside four other commissions. Appointed in 2020 as the founding director, Maddox has led initiatives like the award-winning LA For All anti-hate campaign and the Office of Race & Equity, while driving community-based programs to tackle inequity and structural racism. She shares an inside update on the city’s progress toward reparations.
